I'm Steve, the proprietor of wooftas.com. Before I started the business had a successful career as a lecturer/tutor for 15 years, teaching many subjects on many different programmes. Following a series of redundancies I had lot's of time on my hands so I began to look after the dogs of my family and friends when they went on holiday and helping to train dogs for the showring etc. So it kind of happened organically that I began to work for myself, looking after and training dogs - something I have always loved.
Dogs have always been a part of my life, I grew up in a dog breeding family and was involved in the rearing of puppies as far back as I can remember. I have experience with many breeds, my favourites being the Springer Spaniel, Labrador, Boston Terrier, Pug and French Bulldog.
I am very much customer focused as all of my clients would agree and my first priority is always the dog's welfare. I ensure every dog in my care is given the care they deserve and I am always on hand to give advice on health, diet, nutrition, behaviour and training.
I have lots of qualifications from my teaching career and I have completed countless training courses covering all the topics you would expect in a professional career but I won't bore you by listing them all here. My continued professional development is just as important to me now that I am self employed so since starting wooftas.com I have already completed lots of training.
I am a Defra approved Microchip Implanter and a trained Canine Pregnancy Ultrasound Sonographer. I have a keen interest in all aspects of canine health and well being. I am a member of The Insitute of Canine Biology and spend much of my spare time studying all things canine.
